Josh Rohrscheib is the Founder and Managing Attorney of Onward Injury Law. He is passionate about helping injured people and their families get through tough times. Josh leads with empathy and kindness, values that shape both his work and his life. He and his wife, Ciarra, live in Normal with their son, Graham, daughter, Cora, and their good old dog, Gussy.
Josh was named Best Lawyer in the Decatur Herald & Review’s 2023 Readers’ Choice Awards and named Favorite Lawyer in the Bloomington Pantagraph Readers’ Choice Awards. He is a member of the Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forums, recognizing attorneys with million and multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements. He holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest for ethics and legal ability, and has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star and one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Illinois by the National Trial Lawyers.
Licensed in Illinois (2006), the District of Columbia (2008) (inactive), and the Central District of Illinois (2009), Josh serves on the Illinois State Bar Association’s Assembly and Tort Law Section Council, coordinating Continuing Legal Education programs. He is also a member of the American Association for Justice, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Decatur Bar Association, and McLean County Bar Association.
Josh earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He served as a policy staffer in the Illinois General Assembly, Student Body President, and Associate Editor of the University of Illinois Law Review. He also founded the Legacy of Service Scholarship, which has provided hundreds of renewable scholarships to students engaged in community service.
A Central Illinois native, Josh gives back to his community through scholarships, teacher recognition programs, and initiatives for children, including car seat donations, helmet giveaways, backpack donations, and his personal favorite—giving new winter coats to kids in need.
Josh’s commitment to giving back extends beyond donations, he has served on the Board of Directors of the McLean County Museum of History, Decatur Area Arts Council, Decatur Public Library Foundation, the Young Philanthropists’ Giving Circle, and as President of the Decatur Chess Club. He was named by Central Illinois Business Journal as one of the 20 People Under 40 Who Make a Difference in Central Illinois. He was nominated for the Decatur Chamber of Commerce’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and his firm has twice been nominated for the McLean County Chamber’s New & Emerging Business Excellence Award.
